1956 Swiss Eurovision winner tries again...with rappers
It might be a little early to think about next year’s Eurovision Song Contest but Switzerland has already begun its selection for 2013. Lys Assia, who won the very first Contest for Switzerland in Lugano in 1956 has put her name forward to represent her country again. The 86-year-old Swiss singer unsuccessfully fought to represent her country for a fourth time last year but, undeterred, is trying again to get a ticket to Sweden next May—this time with 4 rappers from Bern. WRS’s Dave Goodman called her up to find out more about this year’s attempt and asked her why she’s so desperate to be on the Eurovision stage once more:
