Thousands of fans from across the globe poured into the country to support their national teams, but as the dust settles on the huge international party, and the foreign fans head home, what benefits will remain for ordinary South Africans?
Having lived in South Africa before settling near Geneva, design innovator Jan von Mol went beyond first impressions, and struck up a connection with unsung creative talents from the Soweto township. WRS’s Catherine Allen spoke to him about one artist who makes radios from rubbish, and whose creations are now the subject of an exhibition in Switzerland. But first, she asked him for his thoughts on the World Cup in South Africa:
