The World Economic Forum is not without its critics. One of the more outspoken is political economist Susan George, president of the Amsterdam-based Transnational Institute campaigning for social justice and honorary president of Attac France, a founding organisation of the World Social Forum. That meeting was started as a counterweight to the annual meeting in Davos.
