Swedish pop legend didn't expect Roxette to continue
Tuesday, 25 October, 2011The multi-platinum selling Swedish pop duo Roxette has been making hits since the late ’80s. Now after nearly 10 years apart, the duo is back with a new album and world tour. The 18-month world tour includes two dates in Switzerland: October 30 in Geneva and October 31 in Zurich. WRS’s Alex Helmick talks to one half of the duo, Per Gessle, about reuniting for the new album and tour, as well as the story behind the hit song, It Must Have Been Love:

James Blunt back 'home' in Switzerland

The singer-songwriter is beloved in the Verbier area, where he often skis and has a home. And he is very successful in the country with several No. 1 singles and albums on the Swiss charts—even if those aren’t number ones in other countries, including his native Great Britain. Monday, 19 September, 2011Pegasus is made up of four guys from Biel, who grew up on the same street as each other. The group’s big performance came opening for Coldplay at the Stade de Suisse. In 2010, Pegasus would win a Swiss Music Award for Best National Newcomer. A newcomer no more, the band’s third album, Human.Technology, is now out. Two of the four band members Noah Verguth, lead singer, and Simon Spahr, lead guitarist, stopped by The Wrap studio for a chat with Alex Helmick and to perform a couple songs:

Since then, she has developed a unique sound that mixes alphorn with a variety of popular music, and has just recorded her second album. Plus, Burki performs in the studio with guitarist Sam Siegenthaler:

Monday, 9 May, 2011Duran Duran, a British band massively popular in the 1980s, launched its comeback with a concert in Zurich over the weekend, kicking off a European tour that includes a performance in Schaffhausen in August. The band, which has sold more than 100 million records, has been through a lot, from changes in members to boating accidents and releasing flop records. Now they’re back, with the group’s 13th album All You Need Is Now and a sound similar to the one that made them famous. WRS’s Alex Helmick speaks to Duran Duran’s bassist and co-founder John Taylor before the Zurich show:
