Joan Wasser, perhaps better known as Joan as Police Woman, has played with music’s elite as a classically trained violinist and studio musician. But for years now, she’s been fronting rock bands, playing the guitar and writing songs, including the hit The Magic. Alex Helmick talks to Joan Wasser about the glory and the vulnerability of going from the back of the stage to the front and how she came up with the name Joan as Police Woman:
