Helena Humphrey

British-born, Helena grew up in London and the Hague, as well as in Vienna and Berlin. Her degree in modern foreign languages took her to Cologne and then on to Paris, where she started out as an online journalist for the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, taking on the role of assistant editor for the organization’s Trends in Newsrooms publication.

A spell as a reporter and news presenter for Radio France International then followed, where she delved into global news, culture and African affairs. Memorable reports include coverage of the Paris Jazz festival, the South Africa World Cup, an investigation into sex workers’ rights on the streets of the French capital, and Ivory Coast’s landmark presidential elections.

When Geneva called, Helena decided it was high time to make the move and finally test out a country she’d somehow managed to avoid (albeit unintentionally) for far too long.
