A sudden hail storm caused a major pile up on the A18 in canton Basel Country injuring 5 and closing the road for several hours.
Police say a driver lost control in the storm and hit another car. That caused other cars behind him to collide.
The wrecked cars had to be towed away. The injured were taken to hospital.
The road closure caused significant delays.
