Controversy builds around possible Polanski extradition Monday, 28 September, 2009 Film director Roman Polanski is to fight his detention in Switzerland and any extradition order to the US, according to his American lawyer. The 76-year-old is currently being held at a Zurich prison after he was arrested on arrival as he came to receive a lifetime achievement award at the city’s film festival.
