According to Lausanne-based Creditreform, 10 percent fewer new companies were set up this year than during the same period last year. The decline bucks the usual trend, Creditreform says, because normally with higher unemployment, more people take the risk to set up shop. But with the hurdles to gain credit raised to new heights in the current financial crisis, those that successfully enter the market now may actually be more likely to survive. Lucas Chambers has more:
