Geneva's new security head tries to stem tide of crime Tuesday, 4 September, 2012 Pierre Maudet has been Geneva’s cantonal Security Minister for two months now. It is a tough job that left his predecessor, Isabelle Rochat, battered and bruised as many predicted it would. The people of Geneva are fed up with a wave of crime that seems to swamp all those who try to stop it. Can Maudet come out unscathed and turn the tide on the problem? Online crime stats don't tell all Wednesday, 4 April, 2012 New figures from the Federal Police (FedPol) say they’re receiving fewer tip-offs about suspected criminal activity online. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the Internet is a safer place. Spam email, for example, is so common these days that people just don’t bother to report it any more. WRS’s Lucas Chambers visits downtown Lausanne to talk to those affected by the recent rise in crime:
Geneva crime report shows unwelcome new trend: rising 'incivilities' Friday, 14 October, 2011 Crime on the rise in one of the world’s richest cities—the story was all the buzz not long ago. Geneva citizens were outraged and police vowed to make changes. Today, the Canton of Geneva’s police unit released the findings of a four-year study of statistics on crime and policing here. WRS’s Alex Helmick speaks to reporter Lucia Walton who was at the press conference:
