Mobile phones and brain cancer? Scientists still don't know Tuesday, 18 May, 2010 Is there a link between brain cancer and mobile phones? The expert answer is…we don’t know. The world’s largest study on the possible link between brain tumours and mobiles has come up inconclusive. The authors presented their findings at the United Nations in Geneva yesterday. Swiss aim high on mobile recycling Thursday, 14 May, 2009 Do you have a mobile phone stuck at the back of a drawer somewhere, gathering dust? If you’re not going to use it, you’d be better off recycling it – its components could then be re-used for other things. This weekend might be a good time to have a mobile-phone clear-out. Making quick payments by simply swiping your mobile phone over a machine is already common practice in Japan, India and even neighbouring France. Now. the big mobile phone operators in Switzerland are now putting their heads together to make this possible here too. But they say a security conscious mentality could cause delay. In the mean time, one Geneva start up has found another route to allowing mobile phone payments, and it is fast turning into a hit on Facebook and Myspace. Lucas Chambers reports for WRS.
