Art Basel: Big squid and self-breaking mirrors Wednesday, 4 June, 2008 The 39th edition of Art Basel starts today. It’s open to the public and runs until Sunday, June 8. Often referred to as the Olympics of the art world, the contemporary art market is the world’s largest. Everything from big, fuzzy squid to self-breaking mirrors are on exhibit at the fair’s most popular room called Art Unlimited. WRS video journalist Amy Wong was there.
Fasnacht lights up Basel Monday, 11 February, 2008 Three days of Fasnacht carnival festivities kicked off in Basel at 4 a.m. today as groups known as “cliques” lit up the darkened streets in the city center with music and colorful lanterns.
